PSP Slim and Lite handheld games console
At a price of £129.99, the new PSP Slim and Lite handheld games console doesn’t bring much change to the already existing choice of portable game consoles. It is, if you wish, similar to a facelift of a popular car model, rather than a whole new model to replace the old one. It is slimmer and lighter than the previous PSP consoles you are used to, and this is truly a good thing, but many expected revolutionary new features to it, and they’re simply not there.
The screen size is excellent and the graphics displayed on it are close to what you’d get on a normal, desktop PC or home PSP. The PSP Slim and Lite handheld games console comes with a Wi-Fi connection that allows you to connect to the internet and you also get the Memory Stick slot which comes in very handy when you want to store photos or game saves on it. The back area of the console contains the UMD slot and the PSP Slim and Lite handheld games console has a simpler opening mechanism for it.

The more compact PSP Slim and Lite handheld games console also allows you to output video from your PSP to a TV, however, you need to purchase the connector cable separately, as it is not included in the box. This is a bit of a disappointment, really. Another thing missing is a screen protector, so an investment in one is needed if you want to keep scratches of your portable PSP screen.

The PSP Slim and Lite was also launched as a direct competitor to the Nintendo DS. The larger screen and fancier graphics are above the levels offered by the DS, but the overall feeling of the PSP Slim and Lite handheld games console is that the manufacturer simply repainted an old piece of equipment, added a few new features and now sells it as new. By no means is the PSP Slim and Lite handheld games console a bad device, but considering its heritage everyone was expecting just a little bit more than what we received.
