New Toshiba’s tiny hard drives with large capacity
Today Toshiba announced commercialization of two hard disk drives. Both are 1.8-inch drives, first with capacity of 160 GB and thin and light one with 80 GB capacity. They are designed for mobile devices like portable media players. Drives have improved read-write head, and magnetic layer which boost recording density with 228 gigabits per square inches. dlives
This small 1.8 inch drives are used in many devices from mobile notebook PCs to digital movie cameras and media players. New drives improves energy consumption efficiency which is defined in Japanese law. Also they are RoHS-compliant. Toshiba will present this new drives at Discon USA 2007, in Santa Clara, California, from September 19 to 20.
