New Canon IXUS 90 IS (Powershot SD790IS) and IXUS 85 IS (Powershot SD770IS)
Just for sorting thing out Ixus 90IS is a name for new Canon’s ultracompact for European market, while on north American market will be sold under the name PowerShot SD790IS. Same analogy on IXUS 85IS or PowerShot SD770IS on American market. There are even third set of names for Japanese market - crazy Canon.

Both new Cameras SD790IS and SD770IS are sharing the same optical sensor - 10 mega pixel resolution, and they are using the same 3x zoom optically stabilized lens ( IS ). Also both cameras has improved versions of internal software - like the oldest brother in the family IXUS 970 IS - Powershot SD890 IS.

Almost only difference tween these cameras is on their back side, LCD display used on the Powershot SD790IS has a 3 inch diagonal, while LCD used on Powershot SD770IS has only 2.5 inch diagonal. Using a 3 inch display had some drawbacks like removing optical viewfinder, cause there are no room to fit viewfinder and 3inch display on camera that small. While the Powershot SD770IS has just enough space to fit the 2.5 inch display and the viewfinder.

Beside that difference in LCD size, Canon has experiment a bit with buttons design on the SD790IS model, so all the buttons have that interesting new flat look.
