Everyone that is looking for a Blu-Ray and HD DVD compromise will be quite happy to discover that the Samsung BD-UP5000 has worked to achieve a nice balance between the two formats. With the ability to nicely handle all of the needs of each format without too much trouble, this is the player that will sit on the shelf in solitude without the need for a companion player in order to play everything that you want. While many of the big screen companies are struggling to pick out a single format over the other, this player has worked to bring the two sides together seamlessly and the results are stunning.

Crisp and clear pictures are noticeable, the quickness of the menu changes make it very easy to switch between menus and even chapters and also the ability to plug the unit in using Ethernet makes it incredibly easy to update the unit as new firmware is released. The only major unfortunate news is that the price is looking to be in the range of $1,000. While this may be cheaper than purchasing two units one for Blu-Ray and one for HD DVD, it is still a bit of an expensive purchase that is likely to turn many people off.

However, in terms of functionality, this is certainly the best option on the market. Offering the ability to quickly change menus without flaws, load the discs quickly and provide the beautiful picture quality that you demand puts the Samsung BD-UP5000 right out into the forefront of all of the other combination players. The bugs and flaws that the LG BH100 had are gone from this model and you are left with something that works perfectly for your needs. This can definitely help to make up for the bit of a large price tag that is associated with the model.

If you are looking for a complete package that is all in one that will allow you to have something a bit different looking, this is a great option to explore. With speakers that highly resemble champagne or flute glasses and a DVD player, six channel amplifier and AM/FM tuner all brought together this has the ability to turn a grown adult back into a toy at the idea of playing with this gadget. Of course, the bad news is that for those who are looking for something robust and manly this just might not cut it. Something is just not quite manly and robust about flute glass shaped speakers.

Once you get past the design, regardless of whether you love it or hate it there is plenty to love about the unit. With a nice 6.1 channel cinema sound, you are certain to get the exact sound that you want. Additionally the 1080p HDMI output gives a nice quality as well. There are some downsides to the LG HT762TT movie/music box though, for example there is a distinct lack of inputs that can allow you to really customize this unit to your specific needs. Additionally, there are some who feel that the bass is a bit too over the top, however, if you take the time to carefully adjust the settings in the amplifier this should resolve your issue.

Over all this is certainly a great unit to look at. With a set of four flute glasses all around your room it can be quite the unique conversation starter and you will be thoroughly surprised at the sound quality that can come out of these tiny speakers. Be prepared to be blown away, this unique little system has everything you will need to enjoy a great movie with theater like sound quality right from your very own home.

As an option in the world of Blu-Ray, the Panasonic DMP-BD30 makes a great choice to look at. However, there are a few drawbacks that are worthy of noting. To start with the drawbacks, there is no Ethernet connection. I know, you are probably thinking what exactly does a Blu-Ray player need Ethernet for, but it is important because this will limit the ability to upgrade the firmware for the player, and also limits the ability to use interactive content that is anticipated to be released soon. The last big piece of bad news is that those who want the best is sound quality will need to purchase a good AV receiver in order to get the type of performance that they really want.

The good news is that this player is quite good for the price. With a price tag that ranges in the $450 area it is a good buy and provides the ability to insert an SD card that will allow you to play video from AVCHD camcorders as well as from the actual Blu-Ray discs themselves. Additionally the Panasonic DMP-BD30 can hold its own in terms of working to ensure the best in Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master Audio output. Bringing the distinction of being the first Profile 1.1 player, this certainly has a huge portion of the market waiting to purchase it.

With a weight of around 7.3 pounds and the ability to use a good surround sound system built in this is certainly a great model to take a look at. Of course, it is on the low end of the spectrum and is not the most advanced, but for those who are looking for an affordable option that will not break the bank; this is certainly something to look at very closely. The price tag is right in line with what you can expect, and the product is good and reliable making it a great choice.

Suddenly deciding that you want to get into the high tech ultra DVD age at this point typically means you are looking at some huge prices for a DVD player that will only play a portion of the movies on the market. The good news is the video quality is better for HD DVD and even Blu Ray; the bad news however is the price of the players as well as the fact that most movies are exclusive to one format or the other. This means to have the widest selection you are generally looking at purchasing two different players, right? Well actually, LG has put their foot down and decided that enough is enough. They have now released the LG Super Multi Blu BH200, which is an upgrade from the BH100 model.

This ingenious little contraption actually allows you to watch HD DVD and Blu Ray discs from the very same machine! This is huge for those who really want the improved quality without forking over several thousand for both players. While the price itself is still a bit high, coming in at $999 it is still a lot cheaper than purchasing a HD DVD player as well as a Blu Ray disc. Even better news is the player still can handle standard CD and DVD discs, this is coming out to be your ultimate entertainment player overall.

The really good news is you are not sacrificing any of the video quality that you have come to expect as you watch all of the high quality DVD formats emerging onto the market. Keeping up with the emerging market was a big of a hassle before but with the problems of wrong formatted discs. One of the biggest benefits is the ability for the LG Super Multi Blu BH200 to automatically determine the speed it needs to run at in order to appropriately play the correct format. There is a small problem for some with the missing S-video connector but considering you are looking at high definition video, you are still not losing anything important.

The Blu-ray technology is starting to get more and more attention from the home entertainment industry. The Blu-ray Disc format was developed by the BDA – Blu-ray Disc Association, an association in which most consumer electronic companies are involved, together with media producers. There are 180 companies involved in the Blu-ray technology, and Sony is one of them. The Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player is one of a few other home entertainment units produced by Sony and using this technology.

The introduction of the Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player also holds the answer to some previous copyright and content protection issues. The Blu-Ray technology uses the HDCP module – High Definition Content Protection means that the content cannot be copied from one source to another media without losing its HD capabilities. Let’s have a look at how the Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player employs all these technological advances.

The Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player is meant to get the best out of your HD TV. The device focuses on image dept and crispness and offers users 1080p high quality video output. The image quality has to be complemented by audio quality as well, and the Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player is compatible with different formats such as Dolby® True HD and Dolby® Digital Plus. As Sony claims, the Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player produces an image quality that cannot be matched by any DVD player. The Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player also works with standard DVDs, so consumers don’t need to worry about making a huge switch in their home entertainment collection.
Here are a few of the features of the Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player. The player supports AVC-HD Media Playback and uses a variety of codecs for videos, such as MPEG2, MPEG4, AVC and VC-1. Its DVD upscaling capabilities go up to 1080p and it also features the Uncompressed Multi Channel Linear PCM Output. IN the audio section, the Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player also has several key features, such as the separated audio circuit board and high fidelity audio parts. Speakers can also be set up individually through the menu. Interaction is ensured by the BD-Java Interactive format and the Sony bdp – se1 Blue Ray Player also comes with parental controls.
